Recently, I stumbled upon these colorful glass partitions at Kvadrat‘s London showroom. Kvadrat is Europe’s leading manufacturer of design textiles. Many of its products are the result of collaborations with acclaimed designers, architects, and artists.

Set in a former Victorian factory, the design for this space was a unique collaboration between legendary art director/graphic designer Peter Saville and renowned architect David Adjaye. I find it compelling for reasons similar to the reception feature wall effect; I love the immersive quality of the colored glass, the ways in which it works with the architecture and dances with the natural light. The concept is very simple, yet very elegant.

As Saville puts it: “The showroom is about making visitors feel that they’re entering the world of Kvadrat – there is a synergy between the place and its purpose which epitomizes their values. It’s human, welcoming and open.”
