Glass Pattern Inspiration

 

Here’s another little example of a glass pattern inspired by nature – in this case, water. As I mentioned last week, I’m ever drawn not only to the vivid colors of the natural elements around us, but also to the tactile qualities and movement of those elements. Water in particular is a muse to which I return again and again. Its infinitely complex colors, shifting patterns, and rhythms – to say nothing of its transcendent symbolism and significance across all cultures – have shaped my approaches to glass pattern (as in the example above), as well as numerous full glass art installations (most recently Water Walk at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital).
