Recently I stumbled over images of this stained glass window, one of two that I created for a private home in Jamestown, RI more than 20 years ago.

Maybe it’s the bright colors, or the way those colors make light dance, or something more nuanced about the lines – but there’s something about fused glass stripes that really capture this time of year for me.

Here’s another little example of a glass pattern inspired by nature – in this case, water.
Nature inspires concepts for many of my full glass art works; but it also influences my experiments in textured glass on a more minute level.
I thought I might quickly share another example of variations on a theme that lead to a final work of custom glass art.

The “Fish Church” that I profiled last week reminded me of another iconic house of worship from around the same era, with some similar qualities (including modern stained glass panels, though used much more sparingly): the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, a designated U.S. National Historical Landmark just outside of Colorado Springs.
Any time I’m developing a new work of custom art glass, I like to draft many variations on a single theme.
